What kind of debt can you help me with?
Our counselors are trained to counsel you on most types of personal and business unsecured debts. That would include credit card debt, medical bills, unsecured bank loans, old utility bills, auto repossession.

In what ways will this counsel benefit me?
A credit counsel will help you understand what programs are available to help you.

What are the fees?
Our consultation is at no cost to you. If you chose to use a program that your counselor offers to you the company may be compensated by the company fulfilling your elected program.

What will my monthly payment be?
That depends on the amount of debt you have and what is comfortable for YOUR budget. You will almost certainly pay less than you are required to pay now.

In which law firm will I be placed?
You will be represented by the World Wide Direct Law Firm.

How will this affect my credit?
Your debt to income ratio is one way that lenders will decide if you are a good risk. If after meeting all your expenses and paying your monthly payments for your credit cards or other unsecured debt there is little or nothing left, you are not credit worthy in the eyes of many lenders. They will see that you cannot afford any more debt. Good credit got you into bad debt. The most important thing you can do now is to GET OUT OF DEBT. Any debt management program will affect your credit in the beginning. But, once you begin to pay off the accounts and obtain zero balances, you will gradually lower your debt to income ratio and be more attractive to potential lenders. Many people don't want to ruin their good credit but they let their good credit ruin them. Once you are done with your program you will benefit from credit restoration which will significantly benefit your credit standing.

Can I achieve these settlements on my own?
While it is possible for someone to achieve settlements on their own we do not recommend it. Creditors do not take you nearly as seriously as a law firm. Would you know how to negotiate a debt settlement or what a good debt settlement would be? An attorney specializing in this area would know most individual creditors and what their standard acceptance offer would be. In order to achieve settlements is important to understand the proper way to fill out certain financial forms and most people do not know how to do this properly. A debt reduction professional also knows what to say, what not to say, and what to ask for. Even amongst lawyers it is said that the lawyer that represents himself has a fool for a client. This is the case for either a lawyer or non-lawyer negotiating debt settlements for themselves. When someone else is negotiating for you the calls and letters from the collector go to the debt management professional that is representing you. It is common for debt collectors to try and do things to trick you. Potential fraud is a danger. They may go to any lengths in order to get you to pay off debt in full. They have been known to have you send money you have been told would be settlement of the debt in full only to find they have lied and simply taken the money and there is still a balance on the debt.

Forensic Mitigation

Professional debt attorney and their settlement officers negotiate on your behalf with your creditors with the goal of settling your debts, and in most cases for a reduced amount than what you currently owe. Your assigned debt attorney will open up a case file with you to develop an individual strategy and offer advice along the way.

First, you speak with one of our highly trained consolers who will discuss your financial situation with you to determine if attorney-based debt negotiation is the right move for you. Your counselor will assist you in filling out an application and returning it to our office. If everything checks out, your preliminary file is created and forwarded to your skilled attorney(s) who will review it from a legal perspective and then will begin crafting a debt negotiation strategy for you. Our clients are often very surprised at the depth and scope of the information that is weighed when negotiating and ultimately settling debt. There are so many unique circumstances and considerations which arise unexpectedly or are generally unanticipated. For example, amount, length and current status of the debt, possibility of bankruptcy, consumer litigation, and availability of funds, timing issues, and creditors involved, and so on.

One of the things which sets Forensic Mitigation apart from the traditional debt settlement programs is being attorney-based and your case is handled from a legal perspective, and all creditors will work with your assigned debt attorney. Attorneys have very stringent state ethical requirements which they are required to adhere too. They provide a comprehensive debt analysis which includes your legal options that take into account the client's individual financial situation. For example, your assigned attorney can advise our clients what steps to take in the event litigation is needed. Your assigned debt attorney is experienced negotiating with debt collecting firms (this is oftentimes preferred as they normally have to educate the collectors as to what they can and cannot do under a particular state's laws).

Your assigned debt attorney can advise you to take appropriate measures to protect their assets just in case they need to file bankruptcy, and if that need arises, your assigned debt attorney will step up to handle that for you as well. Oftentimes your attorney can assist in other matters for example pre & post-divorce planning as it relates to your debt negotiation plan.
